Code of Conduct on Boma programmes

The Crusaders Leadership Programme™ is operated by Boma New Zealand Ltd (Boma).

We want you to feel happy and safe at our programmes, and we want everyone else participating to feel happy and safe, too. Boma New Zealand is dedicated to providing harassment-free events and experiences for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of our Boma participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any of our programmes. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from a Boma programme without a refund at Boma’s discretion.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity, and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion

  • Sexual images in public spaces

  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following

  • Harassing photography or recording

  • Sustained disruption of meetings, group discussions, or other events

  • Unwelcome sexual attention

  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviours

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, Boma retains the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the programme with no refund.

Boma staff may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the programme or making the environment hostile for any participants.

Reporting

Harassment and other code of conduct violations reduce the value of our event for everyone. If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. To make a report, please contact your Course Director or another member of the Boma team. We'll handle your report as quickly and respectfully as possible. You won't be asked to confront anyone and we won't tell anyone who you are unless you give us permission.
